　　故事发生在一座位于俄亥俄州中的小镇之内，丹琪（薇诺娜·瑞德 Winona Ryder 饰）是出生在这里的一位非常叛逆的少女，丹琪的父母很早就离开了她，她由养父母一手拉扯长大。某日，好莱坞大明星洛克西（卡拉·古奇诺 Carla Gugino 饰）将要衣锦还乡的消息传遍了小镇上下，洛克西就是从这个小镇里走出去的，全镇的人都等待着想要一睹这位大明星的风采。
　　对于丹琪来说，洛克西的回归还有着另外的一层重要意义，她一直怀疑自己是她的私生女。丹琪四处打听，想要得到确切的证据，然而她的养父母对此并不知情，洛克西曾经的情人丹顿（杰夫·丹尼尔斯 Jeff Daniels 饰）对这件事也三缄其口。丹琪决定离家出走，在半途上拦截洛克西，问个清楚。

　　A quick glimpse at the cast for this film would make any horror fan giddy with glee. The actual movie doesn't live up to those high expectations, but it's far from being all bad. Desi Arnaz Jr. (!) plays an author who makes a crazy $20,000 bet with his publisher that he could write a great novel in only 24 hours. To do so, the publisher gives him the keys to an old abandoned house where he won't be disturbed. Not true. Once he gets there he is interrupted by a multitude of guests including a family which consists of John Carradine, Sheila Keith, Peter Cushing and Vincent Price. They are gathered there in a twisted family reunion to release their brother from the room he's been imprisoned in for forty years. Even Christopher Lee drops by as Corrigan, the man who has just purchased the house. Soon, they realize that the caged brother is loose and out for revenge.
　　What a great plotline and what a dream cast! This movie should have been a hell of a lot better. It's hard to pinpoint the exact problems with the film, but I would venture to say that the lack of lighting was a major fault. Sure the house has no electricity but I think they took the title of the movie a little too literally. Scenes after scenes are barely visible and the actors' faces are undecipherable. Only the moments in the main dinning hall are well lit. Also, the great actors are given very little to do. Cushing gets a few chuckles as the scared brother but Price, Lee and especially Carradine are somewhat wasted here. Well, at least Price gets the best line of the film: `Please don't interrupt me while I am soliloquizing.' And on the plus side, the story has enough twists and turns throughout to keep one`s interest and the ending, while a bit of a cop-out, manages to surprise.

　　克里斯想向蒂娜展示自己的世界，他的做法是这样的：开着自己挚爱的那辆大篷车，在英伦列岛上展开旅游。这样，蒂娜就能在路上和克里斯交心，并且看到克里斯希望蒂娜去了解的东西——克里奇电车博物馆、Ribblehead高架桥和凯瑟克铅笔博物馆，以及这个国家里到处可见的充满石子的小路。
　　旅程一开始就像是梦想一样美好，两个人也异常地和谐。可是很快，事情黑暗的一面就显现了出来。
　　一点点小事，让这两个人杀了一个人。而在这起凶杀之后，克里斯和蒂娜却再次展开了旅程，并在路上杀了更多的人……

　　A company that produces a toxic chemical tries to improve its image via a popular spokesperson, Ricky Coogan. Ricky travels to South America to get a first-hand look at the chemical's effects and finds himself at a mutant freak farm. Elijah, who runs the farm, is only too happy to have new subjects on which to try his freak machine. The very chemical that Ricky is supposed to promote is the one responsible for creating the great variety of freaks.

　　In his Scottish New Town home, gangling Gregory and his school-friends are starting to find out about girls. He fancies Dorothy, not least because she has got into the football team - and is a better player than him. He finally asks her out, but it is obviously the females in control of matters here, and that very much includes Gregory's younger sister.

　　Toby appears to be an ordinary dog living the simple put life, but unbeknownst to his family, he moonlights as secret government operative, Agent Toby Barks.

　　The film follows the story of three girls in contemporary Paris. One searches for her lost mother since she knows she's adopted. The other has come out of a coma and needs to have a love relationship aside from his mysterious father. The third one is a crook who redeems herself through love. The action is commented by songs and dance routines.

　　At fictitious Tait University in the Roaring 20's, co-ed and school librarian Connie Lane (June Allyson) falls for football hero Tommy Marlowe (Peter Lawford). Unfortunately, he has his eye on gold-digging vamp Pat McClellan. Tommy's grades start to slip, which keeps him from playing in the big game. Connie eventually finds out Tommy really loves her and devises a plan to win him back and to get him back on the field.
